Staffing
Because Beaver Ridge operates under the Safe Sanctuaries policy, all children and youth areas are staffed with a minimum of two trained persons.
| Ms. Tammy Massey is the coordinator for Children's Programs for ages birth thru age 4. In addition to the Sunday morning program, pre-school aged children also participate with the older children in some activities such as the Easter Egg Hunt, Vacation Bible School, and other holiday activities. |

Nursery Facilities for Children from Birth thru Age 4
 |
All nursery rooms are in the Family Life Center (FLC). Enter The FLC from the entrance at the connector between the sanctuary and the family life center. Turn right at the end of the hallway (at the commons area), and continue down the hall to your child's appropriate room.
The nursery rooms are grouped by age. If you or your child have specific needs (like siblings being together), please talk with our nursery staff. We will make every effort to make your child's time with us as comfortable as your church home should be.

Classes for Children from Birth thru Age 4
Children of all ages are welcomed into the life of Beaver Ridge UMC. Our first and foremost goal is to provide a safe, nurturing, and loving environment for your child. We also believe the foundations of the Christian journey begin at the earliest of ages. Therefore, we will offer age appropriate activities including stories, songs and crafts that begin to introduce children to the Biblical stories.

Caterpillars - Infants - 15 Months
The Caterpillar Room is for our youngest attendees. A fun playful atmosphere is our key. Our classrooms contain pack-n-plays, exer-saucers, walkers, bouncy seats, and other age approriate toys and equipment for our infants. Toddlers also enjoy a variety of fun interactive toys, as well as an occasional wagon ride through the family life center!
We do need parents to bring items specific for their child; that big bag of "must haves" for our smallest family members: bottles & breast milk/formula or sippy cups & milk/juice, snacks (if your child will need one, diapers, wipes, a change of clothes, and anything else that gives comfort to your little one (pacifier, blanket, etc...). We try our best to keep items with their owners, but labeling your things is very helpful.

Butterflies - 16 Months - 2 Years Old
The Butterfly Room is for walkers and toddlers. With their own separate space, "our butterflies" have the freedom to explore and play . As with the Caterpillar Room, a fun atmosphere is our key. Like our other classrooms, the room for the Butterflies is well stocked with toys, equipment, and necessities. There is a toddler sized bathroom adjoining the nursery room to help children as they move from the diaper stage.
As with the caterpillars, we do need parents to bring items specific for their child: sippy cups & milk/juice, diapers, wipes, a change of clothes, and anything else that gives comfort to your little one. We try our best to keep items with their owners, but labeling your things is very helpful.

Dragonflies - 3 - 4 Years Old
As your child matures, s/he will graduate to our dragonfly room. Allowing them to have their own space provides the needed room for their more active free play without the worry of stepping on little hands or toes of smaller children. There is a toddler sized bathroom adjoining the nursery room to help children become more independent.
Your big kid might not need as many things that you would normally bring for a smaller child. However, labeled sippy cups are helpful. Also, if you are in the middle of potty training, a change of clothes would be a great idea.

Childcare for Non-Sunday Morning Activities
Beaver Ridge is a very active church and as activities are being planned, our paid nursery staff is often available for childcare. If there is an adult activity you want to attend, call the church and see if childcare is being provided.
