Visuals, Children's Church, Children's Coordinator, Church Council,

Committee, Lay Leader, Lay Leader to Annual Conference, Missions,
Staff-Parish Relations Committee, Pre-School Ministries,
Scouting Coordinator, Senior Beavers, Sunday School Coordinators,
Trustees, United Methodist Men, and United Methodist
Women ).
The description
of each function is intended to be a quick
reference to help guide you to the
proper committee/group of people; it certainly does not
represent all that the committees do for the support and growth of
Beaver Ridge nor all the members of each committee.

Responsible
for the operation of all electronic equipiment (such as microphones,
projectors, audiovisuals) during the worship services. |
| Children's Church |

A children's sermon is give during the 11:00 Worship Service. Following the sermon, the children (ages ~ kindergarten
- 5th grade)are invited to spend the remainder of the service in
Children's Church in the Family Life Center where they enjoy a small
lesson and crafts. |

The children's coordinator oversees the various activities of the children's ministries. |
| Church Council |
Charlotte Delozier |
Provides
for the planning and implementing a program of nurture, outreach,
witness and resoures in the local church. It also provides for
the administraion of its organization and temporal life. |
| Communications Committee |
Julie Moorefield |
This
committee serves to see that events and activites that occur within the
church and its membership is communicated both within the church and to
the community and district. Bulletin boards, articles for
publication, and e-mail are a few of the ways the communication
committee works to spread the news of BRUMC. |
| Evangelism |
Rhonda Thornton & Maggie Smalley |
Helping
the congregation in its ministry to the community and to the world, is
the responsibility of the Evangelism Committee. Outreach
activities, welcoming visitors, and spiritual renewal activities are
some of the activities of this committee. |

Lorie Briegel |
Coordinating the paint, furniture and decor for the church facilities are the responsibility of this committee.

Oversight of the budget, financial askings and expenditures are the responbility of the Finance Committee. |
| Lay Leader |
Ralph Maylott |
Responsiblity
of serving as the primary representative of the laity. Other
responsibilities include meeting regularly with the pastor to discuss
the state of the church and the needs of ministry, serving on other
committees, involvement in study and training opportunities, and
informing the laity of training opportunities within the conference. |
| Lay Member to Annual Conference |
Launa Pennell |
Serves
along with the pastor as an interpreter of the actions of the annual
conference session and reports these actions back to the local church. |
| Missions |
Leslie Little |
Caring
for the sick, feeding the hungry, befriending the outcast while
spreading the Gospel message are the mission and focus of the missions
committee. Through its many mission efforts, the mission
committee seeks to serve those within the local church, community,

| Staff-Parish Relations Committee |

Responsible
for the oversight of the pastor and staff in assessing their gifts and
setting priorities for leadership and service. |
| Preschool Ministries |

Serves s a liasion between the Parents Day Out (PDO) and Pre-School program of BRUMC. |
| Scouting Coordinator |

Acts as a liasion between BRUMC and a Boy Scout troop that regularly meets in the church facilities. |
| Senior Beavers |
Jim & B.J. Cox |
Senior
Beavers is a ministry for the senior adults within the congregation of
BRUMC. Participating in trips, missions, and fellowship
activities are some of the regular activities of the Senior Beavers. |
| Sunday School |

The
Sunday School secretary has the responsibility of recording attendance
and collecting offerings for all the Sunday school classes.
The
Sunday school superintendent has the oversight of the adult classes to
see that materials are ordered, curriculum is planned, and space is
allotted for the adult discipleship cdasses.

| United Methodist Men (UMM) |

The
purpose of United Methodist Men is to declare the centrality of Christ
in every man’s life, to promote the spiritual growth of ment hrough
effective discipleship, and to model the servant leadershipof Christ in
our daily lives and in the life of the church.

| United Methodist Women (UMW) |

The
United Methodist Women (UMW) is a community of women whose purpose is
to know God and to experience freedom as a whole person through Jesus
Christ. Their mission is to develop creative and supportive
fellowship and to expand the concepts of mission through participation
across the globe. The UMW meets as a whole once a quarter;
individual Circle meetings are held monthly.
